David Ahlgren

IT network security professional with long and varied history starting in the late 70's as an electronic digital hobbyist, then in 1983 working in mainframe maintenance after a brief 3+ year adventure into linguistics as a translator for the Korean (한국어) language. My background strength is the hardware, software, network, and operational aspects of my long-term experience. I took the combination of intelligence and IT to fuse these skills into a full-time Information Assurance / Information Security focus since 2002. I use my abilities and experience to combat the new paradigm of "loose fingertips sink ships" in this information age of cyber warfare and terrorism. I am driven to know more about the inner workings of systems and network devices to keep them safe, reliable, and available to the customers I support. I enjoy the challenges and changes in the IT world to keep my mind sharp and occupied in my work. My coworkers have continually used me as the go-to guy since I strive to keep up with current technology and remember minutiae to solve issues from the desktop to the internet. What I don't know, I research and find the solution to quickly and to the required depth. The cyber landscape has changed much from the introduction of the WWW onto the Internet in 1991, and my goal is to keep pace with the security issues to protect and defend those who use this infrastructure to do business and protect their citizens from nefarious actors.
