David Bueno Vallejo

Dr. David Bueno Vallejo is Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Málaga. He was the CIO of the City of Malaga between 2011 and 2021. He led a team of around 130 professionals at the Municipal Information Technology Centre (CEMI). Among his responsibilities were included the Digital Transformation of the City Council in its relationship with the citizens and the improvement of services and processes related with IT. He coordinated and participated in projects related with Smart Cities, E-Admin and Open Government (transparency, open data and participation). In this period, he has helped to the city council to obtain more than 26 awards and recognitions in those fields. Before, for over 13 years at the University, he has been main researcher in national R & D projects related to new technologies such as interactive digital TV or recommender systems. Director of several summer courses and teacher of several masters related to mobile communications. He has received several national and international awards for his projects in chatbots, opendata, mobile applications and digital television, and has a patent about team sport management. His primary research focuses on the development of 3D smart agents (connecting 3D avatars done with Unreal with Dialogflow to create 3D smart characters that can be use in the future meteverses).
