Anyone looking for a project or program manager can get the canned talking points; yes we initiate projects following the defined processes set by the PMO, we help socialize and baseline the business and functional requirements, create and track project plans, manage change, manage milestones and shifting priorities, speak PMBOK, RAID log, expenses, budgeting, communications and on and on. If you want to know about me, I'd start with the fact that I've been working in the FinTech industry for 18 years and a PM for the last 9. I like people and think of myself as socially mature and aware. Mature because I can read and adapt to all the wildly various personalities I work with while keeping our corporate responsibilities in mind. Aware of what's important to my team members, trying to find what motivates them so that we can have a productive relationship. I like to laugh and make the job fun where possible. The more we laugh on a team, the more effective we are with our deliverables. I am results driven and will do what it takes to make the target. My job delivers benefit because we can measure and track the performance of these complicated projects, keep them moving on the correct rail and deliver what's needed when it's needed. I will push my team hard when it is required, but do it in a way that does not burn bridges or create hard feelings. I'm a happy, glass half full, kind of guy with a pragmatic view on life. When it's me time and the weather is right, I can almost always be found on a boat somewhere. For better or for worse, I'm a Seahawks fan, I do not like Volkswagens and although I like Dave Grohl, I'd rather listen to fingernails on a chalkboard than music from the Foo Fighters.
