David Gillaspie

David joined the Navy after high school. He was part of a "Hall of Fame" division while in bootcamp, which is the highest honor any division can receive. He then went to "A' school in San Diego, California at the Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Facility for nearly a year. He graduated top of his class and chose Norfolk, Virginia as his permanent duty station aboard the USS VELLA GULF. While deployed, and David acquired the Navy Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist warfare designation. David attended the US Navy Search and Rescue Swimmer School in Jacksonville, Florida. The class began with 22 sailors and ended graduating only 8, in which David was top of the class. David returned to his ship in Norfolk and joined the ship's Vessel Board Search and Seizure (V.B.S.S.) team. David was honorably discharged on September 3, 2006 after completing four years of service. David immediately began studying at the County College of Morris(CCM) under the Montgomery G.I. Bill. While at the college, David studied Italian as an elective and took one semester off to live in Naples, Italy. David graduated with an associates in criminal justice. David was immediately accepted to the Rutgers School of Arts and Science where he double majored in Political Science and Criminal Justice. During his time at Rutgers, David was admitted to several national honor societies and graduated Magna Cum Laude scoring a total G.P.A. Of 3.7/4.0 in May of 2011. Upon graduating from Rutgers, David worked in the construction industry as a site manager for nearly 4 years. He built houses, hospitals, and renovated historical properties. He played a key role in marketing the company, acquiring jobs, preparing, planning, executing, and completing the job. In December of 2014, David accepted the job of Field Service Engineer II from NxStage Medical Inc. Since then he has traveled the U.S. And Europe as the "face" of the company, performing his duties as an engineer.
