I have recently returned to working as a joiner but my previous roles are as follows below. After leaving secondary school I completed a 4 year modern apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery. I then became self employed and work in all aspects of joinery : - 1st & 2nd fix - kit erection - kitchen installation - upvc window and door installation. Between 2008-2015 I was been working as a Heavy Plant operator in surface mines with Kier Mining and previously A.T.H Resources. My roles included driving caterpillar 777 d,f & g type trucks, caterpillar 740's, komatsu 785's and terex tr100's. When i was with A.T.H i was promoted to leading driver. My duties in this role included: - training new drivers - allocation of drivers tasks - taking note of fellow drivers health and safety concerns - noting down all machine breakdown times. I am now looking to move into offshore work on oil rigs with drilling companies. I have recently self funded the following courses : - bosiet - mist - banksman slinger level 1 - Norwegian escape chute courses - oguk medical. - ca ebs I understand it's a hard industry to break into but I am more than willing to start at the bottom and prove my worth by working my way through the ranks.
