David McMullen

David is a Mechanical EIT with five years of work experience in engineering design environments. David was responsible for the research and development of a standard practice in radiation heat transfer for the autoclave technology group. Since starting with the Hatch Autoclave Technology Group in 2007, David has worked as a Finite Element analyst for the detailed engineering stage of two projects. He has validated the mechanical and thermal criteria against ASME Section VIII, Div 1 & 2 of the BPVC. He was also responsible for the design of autoclaves and other pressure vessels using ASME Section VIII Division 1. He has written equipment specifications, as well as created technical bid evaluations. David has gained valuable experience with radiation heat transfer as well as the design of autoclaves, cyclones, agitator seal systems, tanks, heat exchangers and other pressure vessels. David is currently mobilized at Barrick Gold's Pueblo Viejo mine site in the Dominican Republic as a Pre-Ops Mechanical Field Engineer. He is responsible in part for the commissioning and start up of an 4000 tpd ASU plant producing oxygen for the pressure oxidation circuit. He has also partaken in the construction phase of the POX area of the project at site prior to joining the Pre-Ops team.
