Responsibilities – Ensuring the safe, efficient and effective operations of an industrial based Quality Department as part of the plant management team. Liaising with a variety of cross functional teams, including Optimisation, Production, Health & Safety, Environmental and Maintenance. The role also covers external teams of influence including Quarry operations and Logistics along with customers and suppliers. Quality Assurance – Adherence to the BS EN standards for cement manufacturing and testing, and the necessary audits for compliance validation. This also entails working alongside the sales team to ensure the performance meets the customer requirements. Quality Control – Installing, administering and analysis of in process material specifications and targets to ensure the requirements are met at each stage of the process. This necessitates an understanding of the impact of a wide range of chemical and physical parameters at each stage and evaluating the statistical impacts of such. Ensuring operator buy in and understanding of these targets is key to maintaining the necessary tolerances.
