A KPMG trained qualified chartered accountant with significant experience in the Education, Transport, Service and Distribution sectors, I am now engaged as Chief Finance Officer to restructure and streamline a complex business in estates management. Between 2018 and 2019 I was the Chief Operating Officer of Cavendish Learning Trust and prior to that their Director of Finance. • Leadership of HR, Facilities Management Compliance and Finance functions.Set up a new Multi Academy Trust. Introduced finance and budgeting systems, integrated payroll, successfully oversaw the transfer of staff to an internal facilities management team. • Implemented a financial strategy to ensure that the Trust is financially viable in the longer term. • Introduced systems to ensure quality services are provided by the central team. Previous roles: Shirebrook Academy 2009-2016 • Sourced, designed and implemented a brand new Financial Accounting System including web-based paperless invoicing and purchase ordering systems. • Responsible for budget and forecasting, financial reporting, cash management, site management, procurement, health and safety and appointing/liaising with internal and external audit. Head of Projects and Treasury, East Midlands Trains 2007-2009 • Managed a portfolio of capital projects/ operational initiatives valued at over £90m. • Implementing new accounting system (Oracle) which replaced SAP. • Produced commercial model for a new £30m rail service.
