Diana Rivera

As senior director of development at Lightsource bp, I collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams to deploy solar and storage projects across the U.S., and I contribute my operations expertise as we scale to develop 25GW by 2025. I started my career as an industrial engineer, building aircraft engines in GE’s Operations Management Leadership Program and as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, reducing supply chain costs for gas turbine power plants. I transitioned into wind energy development at EDP Renewables while pursuing an MBA at Harvard Business School and joined Clean Line Energy Partners to unlock constrained wind with transmission. For five years, I co-led development of Grain Belt Express, a high voltage direct current transmission line to deliver 4GW of wind power from Kansas to states farther east. More recently, I developed utility-scale solar energy projects with Merit SI. My skills include infrastructure development, program management, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement. I love working with passionate people who have dedicated their careers to slowing climate change.
