Dorothy Petraitis

I an passionate about the art of writing. I derive great joy from helping others improve their own reading and writing skills. In fact, I am what is known as a “people person” and work well in a collaborative environment. Born with a curious mind, I am continually learning about the wide and wonderful world we all share. Recent subjects of interest include: Chicago history, poverty alleviation, Great Lakes shipwrecks, the Beatnik literary movement, and world geography. I subscribe to The Sun magazine and National Geographic. My background includes training in Jazz and Classical music, so I am an educated listener and an amateur pianist and tenor saxophonist. My ideal job would be in the non-profit or arts sector, such as the tourism industry, library, bookstore, or research center.
