I have a number of past and present roles which will illustrate my abilities in leadership, partnership working, stakeholder engagement, effective communication, risk analysis and strategic development. This is reinforced with my ongoing work as a ‘coal face’ clinician. IT I am the Clinical Lead for the Health Justice Information Service (HJIS) project with NHS England Health and Justice. Clinical Diversity My career started as a surgical trainee and then moved into general practice. Since being a GP, I have undertaken a wide variety of roles and specialisations within a number of environments, including special interests in Substance Misuse, Prison Medicine, Minor Surgery, ENT and Practitioner Health. National Networks As a GP working in prison, I have been a member of the RCGP Secure Environments Group (SEG) since 2007. I was Vice-chair from 2009 - 2012. Expert Witness My expertise in prison medicine has attracted expert witness work. I have a portfolio of clinical negligence cases and have assisted Coroners, the GMC, MPS, MDU, MDDUS and NHS Resolution. I am an Associate Clinical Advisor to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman and provide them with expert advice spanning prison practice, general practice and substance misuse cases.
