Metallurgical industries are operating at a high input of raw materials and adversely polluting the environment though wastes generation. Chemical processing of such waste are consumed high capital cost without proving satisfactory results. But environmental microbiology and biotechnology is a benign technology which can operate at a low cost and high productivity. My future objective is to study the microbiological applications for the low grade ores, wastes and concentrates to remediate / beneficiate the metal values for industrial use and keeping the surrounding environment clean and clear. It is also important to study the natural geo-microbiological processes to characterize and remediate the heavy and valuable metals from ore and waste.
