Paul Sacher (PhD)

I’m a clinician and scientist specialising in AI, digital health, weight management and behavior change. I have a rare mix of skills and experience acquired from working in Founder, Co-founder, C-suite and specialist consulting roles across business and product development, healthcare, med tech, digital health and research.I have been an invited speaker at 49 national and international conferences, published 26 peer-reviewed scientific publications and 3 books, been featured extensively in national and international media, and have been the recipient of a number of high profile awards.In my current role, I established and lead Allurion’s behavioral science team, focused on developing and evaluating our AI powered, multi component, digital behavior change program for providers and patients in 60 countries. I co-led development of our 1st predictive AI model - enabling providers to identify patients at risk of disengaging and to offer personalised support. I also conducted exploratory research and support the development of our innovative AI/LLM health coach to automate patient care. I am a founding member of Allurion's Scientific Affairs Committee. I previously led digital transformation of the 4th largest adult weight management organisation (Slimming World), taking it from an in-person service to a digital service with over 1 million users. I have also previously personally led all stages from development to launch, including international adaptation and scientific evaluation of the largest, international, family-focused health behavior change program (MEND).
