About
My career has spanned rewards consultancy and research and i am currently self-employed managing a nice mix of research, advisory, teaching and trustee work. I am pleased to be available for paid-for and pro bono assignments as a colleague, coach, adviser or doer. My current projects include: - researching and writing a long-read for IES on rewards after the pandemic - helping a public sector research body with their gender pay report, equal pay audit and action plan - lecturing at Roehampton University and Kings College on rewards and change management - completing an executive pay study for a utility company. I previously led the HR consulting activity at the Institute for Employment Studies. I have a PhD in reward strategy achieved alongside more than 25 years of experience in major consulting firms such as Aon Hewitt, Towers Perrin and PwC. I was also Assistant Director General at the CIPD for 5 years. I am lucky to have worked with great clients in the past, from major companies such as National Grid, BT and Guardian Media Group, to the Department of Health, Cabinet Office and European Commission, and for not-for-profit organisations such as Unicef and Fairtrade. I am a non-executive member of remuneration/HR committees at Christian Aid and a Board/ Council member of the Pensions Policy Institute. I am also a visiting professor at the University of Greenwich and a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, having written policy reports for them in 2020 on labour market enforcement and employment status
