Previous roles have included Technical Leadership as a Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach at the English Institute of Sport, National Lead for Strength & Conditioning to both Great Britain Taekwondo and Great Britain Basketball’s Olympic programmes, and Head of Strength and Conditioning at Newcastle United Football Club in the Barclays English Premier League. I gained my PhD in Exercise Physiology from the University of Connecticut, USA. I have authored/co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and in 2010 was the recipient of the Terry J. Housh NSCA Outstanding Young Investigator of the Year Award. I serve as an Editorial Board member for the Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research and the International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance.
