My field of interest is Structural Biology. On biological side we study endosomal proteins (proteases, glycosil hydrolases, MHC class II molecules) and bacterial surface proteins form S. Auresu and C. Difficile. We would like to understand how enzymes and other molecules recognize their substrates and thereby contribute to processes such as antigen presentation and bacterial cell wall remodeling. On methods side we develop computational methods for macromolecular crystallography and more recently extending them to electron microscopy. Focus is on model building and new approaches to refinement.
