Dwayne Roark

Dwayne J. Roark is the Vice President, Public Affairs, Government Relations & Communications at Univar Solutions. In this critical executive role, Roark is responsible for the overall strategy, planning and execution for the communication and engagement of influential stakeholders that includes government and industry user groups to build relationships important for the growth and reputation of the company. Leading a global team of experts, Roark collaborates directly with the CEO and across internal functions to form and successfully advance the company’s communications and public policy agendas along with its overall mission to influence legislative matters as well as the political environment. Roark works directly with the most senior leaders of the company and external stakeholders including government entities and non-government organizations, to align the global the corporate affairs strategy through all facets of the company.Prior to joining Univar Solutions, Roark was the director of corporate communications for FMC where he was responsible for the corporation’s communications strategies, operations, and initiatives to promote and protect the company’s reputation and brand. He previously held communications and marketing leadership positions with Dow, MISUMI, and Danaher.Roark also serves on the Board of Directors for the Chemical Industry Council of Illinois, is Vice Chair of the Government Policy & Advocacy Committee at the National Association of Chemical Distributors and is an adjunct professor for American InterContinental University as well as an accomplished author and speaker for PR News. He frequently engages in communications conversations through various stakeholder networks and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Administration (PHDBA) from Trident University International. Roark holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism / Mass Communications with an Advertising / Public Relations Concentration and a Marketing Minor from the University of St. Francis and a Master of Science degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University.
