Ed Haubenreiser

As a senior student-athlete preparing to graduate with a B.S. in ecology and biodiversity from the University of the South, I’ve had numerous opportunities to conduct scientific research, both at school and abroad. These experiences, ranging from plant ecology to wildlife behavior, have served to expand my understanding of the vast interactions and relationships that take place within the environment. After spending some summers as a counselor at a boy’s wilderness adventure camp, one of my goals in life is to teach experientially in a middle or high school setting and make an impact on students (ages 12-18) with a focus on the environment and their connection to the world. In order to do this, I plan to bring positivity to the classroom that will engage students to learn, coach team sports that bring classmates together to work towards a common goal, and travel abroad to help today’s youth understand the importance of other cultures from around the world.
