Edgar Lassance

I am an International Trained Dentist by the Federal University of Ceara - class of 2017.2, one of the most renowned universities in the north-northeast region of Brazil. In 2015, I went on an exchange program in the University of Sydney (Australia), where I was placed in the third year of their four-year Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (D.M.D) program. This experience has very much molded my views and desires regarding dentistry, and is one of the root causes for my will to immigrate and become a dentist abroad. After graduating in August of 2017, I immediately started working part-time as a Dentist in Oral Clinic, in both their units where I performed the entire array of dental procedures. I gradually transitioned from Oral Clinic to the nation-wide franchise called Sorridents - Downtown Fortaleza unit. By the end of September 2017, I owned a full-time job in this clinic. Again, I performed all dental procedures, including endodontics, prosthododntics, periodontics and oral surgery. The great advantage of this workplace was that its notoriety attracted many patients - frequently I saw over 10 patients in a day. This allowed me to acquire a lot of knowledge and to refine many skills during the two years I spent there. By September of 2019, I decided I would try to immigrate and become a dentist in Canada. Ever since, I have been studying for the NDEB equivalency process.
