Edson dos Pais Mufume

A holder of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Auditing from ISCAM (Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Auditoria de Moçambique) and currently MSC Candidate in Finance and International Trade, awaiting for the dissertation at Universidade Técnica de Moçambique (UDM). Very open minded, simple, team minded, focused to results, dynamic, excellent analysis and planning as well as computer skills, with attention to details. I have 8 years (5 Years in FMCG company and 3 Years up till now in Oil & Gas Industry) proved experience in the areas of Finance Management and Accounting with SAP ERP system exposure in multinational companies operating in Mozambique. I’ve worked at British American Tobacco Mozambique for 5 years, from August 2014 and in my first year I played a role of procurement intern were among other activities, I was responsible for Direct and Indirect purchases annual spend analysis, Drive Public Tenders process & Suppliers database management. Thereafter, with my dedication, discipline and delivery I was invited to join Finance Team were I worked as Accounts Receivables and Banks Assistant for almost 2 years with main tasks: Monthly bank and Customers reconciliations, Cash Flow forecast, FX rates Fluctuations Monitor, FX purchase, Customers credit limit management, Intercompany Receivables management; & Bank in-outflows control. Amid my adventure in Accounts Receivables I highlight my successful assignment to lead the draw and implementation of a direct sales procedure as a reaction to the temporary closure of our distributor’s warehouse in northern Mozambique. That year I received a battlefield prize as result of successful implementation of direct sales procedure. At last, in July 2017, I was moved to the position Corporate Finance Analyst where I had the following main tasks: Ensure local and foreign payments on time, Control and reconciliation of Downpayments, Cash Flow forecast, Supplier Statements reconciliation, Ageing Analysis, FX rates Negotiation for Foreign payments, Monthly stock count report, Month end Closure - accruals, Support external Auditors, & intracompany reconciliation. My Oil & Gas Industries experience starts in June 2019 when I joined Mozambique Rovuma Venture, SpA as a Joint Venture Accountant and it is being a such amazing journey where among other activities I have the following tasks: Raise relevant accruals at month end closure, Realized and Unrealized Exchange Rates reconciliation in SAP; Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation (Vendors); & Support Internal, External & Tax (INP) Auditors.
