Edward Noortman

Born in Belgium in 1992 as a Dutch citizen and am currently working and residing in Singapore since the start of 2022. Growing up, my main passion in life was playing ice hockey which I managed to do at a semi-professional level. Ultimate highlight here was winning the silver medal at the 2010 world championships playing for the Dutch squad (or losing the gold, as some would say). Being in that environment really helped shape who am I am today. I started my professional career in 2014 working for a textile trading company which gave a very hands-on learning of the textile business and procurement with 150+ travel days a year and a lot of that time being spent in factories in the far east solving issues and coming up with solutions. Combining this with customer relations and sales-like activity gave a very wide knowledge base and experience to grow from. Late 2018 I got the opportunity to further expand my career with ECCO where I currently am the Head of the Global Sourcing Organization (GSO). My teams around Asia and Europe are responsible for the strategic sourcing and material developments on all non-leather based materials. The position revolves a lot of internal and external stakeholder management along with setting the strategy for 140M EUR+ material spend annually.
