Ehsan Bahram

Ehsan is an Associate Civil Engineer (MIEAust CPEng NER RPEQ) with more than 15 years of experience in the field of Civil, Property and Building Civil and Drainage (Registered NSW Principal Design Practitioner - PDP, PRE, DEP), Stormwater Drainage, Road design, Track Drainage (AEO Verifier), Hydraulic Structures Design, Water Sensitive Urban Design, Hydrology, Hydrological Simulation, Integrated Flood Management, Flood Analysis and Sanitary Sewer Network Design. Ehsan current role is Associate Engineer at WSP. Ehsan has experience working with different hydrological/hydraulic simulation software. His specialty in this field is HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS. He is familiar with other hydrologic package as well. Ehsan has simulated hydrological condition in more than 20 catchments including rainfall-runoff estimation, time of concentration, hydrograph analysis, flood analysis, design of basins and small dams. In the field of stormwater management, he has been engaged in designing and simulating numerous surface drainage network as lead drainage engineer (stormwater network including OSD, Rainwater Tanks, pump stations) in different software such as DRAINS, SWMM and SewerGEMS. He is also intimated with the Water Sensitive Urban Design since he has worked as a hydrologist and is familiar with the natural water cycle. River Engineering is another desirable field in Ehsan's professional career. He has modelled the flooding in rivers using HEC-GeoRAS and HEC-RAS. He used these simulation in catchment management, flood plain analysis, flood vulnerability map, flood inundation map and river stabilization. In 2014, Ehsan was responsible for the design of the sanitary sewerage network in two cities. Designing the network in stage 1 and the detailed design in the stage 2, was part of his responsibility. Ehsan has also worked in the field of flood control structures in the catchments with hazardous flood behavior. His main field is debris flow and slit dams for controlling debris flow. This was also his thesis title. As part of his Msc thesis he has built a tilting flume to simulate the slit dam to determine its Trap Efficiency and the sedimentation profile in the dams reservoir.
