Eirik Johnson

Photographic artist Eirik Johnson has exhibited his work at institutions including the Aperture Foundation, NY, the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, Stanford University, and the George Eastman House, Rochester, NY. His monographs include PINE (Minor Matters), Sawdust Mountain (Aperture), and BORDERLANDS (Twin Palms). Johnson’s editorial work is focused on human experience in the cultural, architectural, and environmental world. His work has appeared in publications including the New York Times Magazine, California Sunday Magazine, Travel+Leisure, Metropolis, Dwell, Grey, Audubon, Pacific Standard, GQ, and the Wall Street Journal. Johnson’s work is in the permanent collections of institutions including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Seattle Art Museum, the International Center of Photography, NY, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX. Awards include an Artist Trust Fellowship 2017, Art Matters Grant 2013, the 2012 Neddy Prize, the Santa Fe Prize 2005, and a William J. Fulbright Grant in 2000.
