Throughout my educational career at Salve Regina University, I had a myriad of beneficial experiences. Most notably, I completed my student teaching in a Kindergarten classroom, engaging with students who have varying degrees of abilities in all subject areas. In first grade, I was given the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues to create lessons in all four Common Core areas of study. My educational field experiences have also taken me to second grade, where I designed and implemented individualized interventions after analyzing a student’s literacy data. Finally, I worked in a preschool setting and created beneficial activities for students utilizing the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards. These experiences combined have allowed me to apply my knowledge of assessment, by designing activities which utilize Universal Design of Learning methods and data driven instruction.
