Elaine Gray

I am counsel in the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution group. Based in Toronto, my practice focuses on commercial and insolvency litigation on behalf of automotive finance companies and manufacturers. I provide strategic counsel to shield clients from potential obstacles, resolve disputes and, when necessary provide experience in the courtroom. I have considerable experience with all litigation and disputes affecting automotive finance companies including export frauds, lien claims, collections and product and lessor liability claims. I also have experience in restructuring and winding down major automotive and truck dealerships across Canada on behalf of secured lenders. I have appeared before the Ontario Supreme Court of Justice, The Ontario Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia. I have worked extensively for Chrysler Financial Services Canada for many years. I was on the board of DaimlerChrysler Financial Services Canada from 2002 until 2007 and then on the board of Chrysler Financial Services Canada until 2009. I continue to work closely with Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Canada Corporation. This year, I have been recommended for Acritas Star ranking. Through this initiative, I am able to tap into issues impacting women while providing support to a network of women worldwide. Connecting with my Pod colleagues on a regular basis has helped to create a new burst of energy for all of us.
