Eleanor Opoku

I am a service-focused operations administrator with a background in economics and development studies. I have worked with colleagues to offer outstanding service underpinned by robust administration. Whilst applying a versatile range of communication strategies to empathise and support a variety of customers and internal stakeholders. After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Politics, I decided to continue further education with a Master’s degree in Economic Development; where my passion to see the overall improvement of the African continent would be aided with theoretical knowledge from the course. My passion to see the Economic Development of Africa, with a primary focus on Ghana, remains present and I exercise the ability to contribute, in my voluntary role as the Events and Programme Coordinator at Future of Ghana – a non-profit organisation aimed at mobilising young Ghanaians at home and abroad to support the development in Ghana. During my recent visit to Ghana, I was able to coordinate two separate volunteer programmes at two different schools in Tema, where we held four different sessions for the children of the schools to educate them on different pathways to success and build valuable team building skills. Being able to be a part of a team where we are able to offer children from underprivileged backgrounds the chance to think outside of the box and aim to achieve in both traditional and vocational roles, is an opportunity I do not take for granted and I look forward to the next programmes where we can positively affect lives in the continent. I have recently become interested in Agriculture and Supply Chain Management and am looking to explore different avenues in how fruits and vegetables are imported into the UK and sold in grocery stores and supermarkets.
