Dr. Eng. Elisavet Chatzizyrli

I am a postdoctoral researcher at Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. With 7+ years of experience in the field of modeling and simulation of laser systems and processes. I have developed a novel methodology for optimizing laser-excited lighting systems; the simulation framework I proposed couples the optical and thermal effects to investigate the thermal limitations of these systems. I have strong analytical skills, a passion for programming and a solid background in computer science as a graduate of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. I work well both independently and in a team environment. I was part of the MOMA Laser Head team, a project part of the ESA / Roscosmos ExoMars rover mission, where I performed different types of simulation analysis to ensure the thermal and structural integrity of the laser-head flight model. As an engineer, I have been trained to deal with all aspects of problem solving: Understanding the underlying physical principles of a given system, deriving the mathematical model that describes them and implementing a cost-effective solution.
