Elizabeth Des Rosiers

Elizabeth Des Rosiers is a third year undergraduate student at Metropolitan State University - Denver completing a BA in English and a minor in Linguistics with a 3.8 GPA. She is an aspiring writer, but also enjoys studying foreign languages and cultures, and working with children. She has three years of experience working at The Goddard School, and over ten years of babysitting and nannying children between 6 months and 9 years old. In high school, Elizabeth studied Japanese and maintained a near 4.0 GPA. Her Japanese studies led her to realizing her passion for linguistics. With essays written in English and Japanese, she won a trip to Japan as a student ambassador for the Kakehashi Project alongside other students from across the United States. The project cemented her passion for international relations and language acquisition, as well as her love of learning about other cultures.In 2017, Elizabeth studied International Relations at the University of Economics in Prague. There, she explored Russian, Czech, and Polish languages and cultural histories, and deepened her interest in linguistic anthropology. She earned a Certificate for Central and East European Studies upon completing the program.When it comes to writing, Elizabeth specializes in creative nonfiction and prose writing. She prefers short forms and also dabbles in poetry, with themes generally focused on stories inspired by her travels, whimsical observations of life in Colorado, and the LGBTQ experience.
