Elizabeth Rowan

I am a recent graduate of the University of Mississippi, with a Masters in Taxation with Data and Analytics. I also graduated from Miami University (2020) with a double major in Accountancy and Finance, and Masters in Accountancy. I am currently studying for the CPA exam. Studying abroad for 6 months in South Korea and China is the most significant opportunity and experience Miami University gave me. My time abroad pushed me outside my comfort zone. I learned a new language, networked with professionals in South Korea, saw how businesses are run, and made lifelong connections with my Korean classmates and professors. On top of this, I volunteered for the 2018 Winter Olympics. I worked Start Control for the luge, ensuring everything behind the scenes ran smoothly. I left Asia with a better understanding of their culture, a new perspective on life, and an appreciation for all the opportunities I’ve had. Outside of class, I was on the Club Waterski team. This team honed my time management skills, balancing class, homework, weekly practice and weekend-long tournaments throughout the fall. Staying on top of school work has given me the chance to travel to Nationals, where our team has won three NCWSA D2 National Champion titles. I held an exec position as Social Media and Apparel Chair for three years, extending my leadership and communication skills.
