I am a research professional with a passion for research in general and material response to welding in specific. I enjoy working on complex, technical and multidisciplinary challenges, and strongly believe that innovation is driven not only by technical insight, but also by good communication, and the ability to build bridges between several disciplines. My current role includes research in the field of joining, where I collaborate with Tata Steel colleagues, automotive customers, and research institutes, towards development of new steels and joining technologies for the automotive industry. In addition, I am project leader for all general knowledge development for automotive application areas including plasticity, crash, hydrogen embrittlement, joining and damage. Next to my roles as project leader and joining expert, I contribute to the improvement of the both the organisational health and innovative power of our organisation, and the promotion of technical education and development for kids.
