A professional and proficient Engineer / Administrator with over 22 years’ private and public sector experience within the IT industry. I have extensive knowledge in a wide range of IT solutions and am able to apply this experience in a variety of environments. Key Achievements • Led the DBA team on DWP’s Labour Market System (LMS) Releases 32/33 implementation (Largest single tier database in Europe connecting to all UK Jobcentres (52,000 concurrent users)) - upgraded the LMS database from Oracle 10g to 11g. • Modified SQL batch scripts to reduce run time by up to a third, saving 24/7 Operations time and resources. • Created SQL batch scripts to resolve system issues which increased the effectiveness of 24/7 Operations. • Created work instructions to aid teams in problem resolution, resulting in reduction or removal of the need for escalation. • Converted legacy mainframe data via a Perl script, and uploaded into an oracle database as part of the Transforming LMS project which resolved weeks of testing issues. • Compiled and delivered internal and customer training in a number of roles. • Awarded Excellence Award at Xerox Business Services for recovering a system within hours after failed hard drive brought a stop to production. • Working knowledge of a diverse range of large public and private sector environments, including – The Department of Work & Pension (DWP), Ministry of Justice (MOJ), Rolls Royce (RR), Lloyds’s , Cambridge University Hospitals, Barnet Health Care.
