In 1990 I co-founded a software development company where the main project was to develop a preventive maintenance system for a geothermal power plant in Iceland. It was a long and strong journey but extremely educational as is was done in close co-operation with all the technical and operational staff of the power plant. The software name is "DMM - Dynamic Maintenance Management" and is now owned and maintained by company named Softa. In 1995 I was offered position as an IT Manager at "ITS - Icelandair technical Services" at Keflavik airport. My first job was to implement a new aircraft maintenance system. After one year, when the application was fully implemented, I was offered a new position within ITS as Manager of Business & Administration. Over the next 10 years I did hold several management positions including Manager Planning & Customer Services, Manager MRO Purchasing and Manager Quality Assurance. As Manager Quality Assurance I wrote new EASA manual for the company as the transition from JAR-145 to EASA-145 was going on at that time. In February 2006 it was time for some changes so I started my own consultancy company which is still life and kicking. For the first two years I worked for airlines in Europe but since late 2007 to the present day I'm working as a consultant for Alcoa Fjardaal in Iceland. At the beginning I was hired to consult around the build-up of an in-house Reliability Center, then been involved in various projects in maintenance, material control, procurement and software development. My expertise lays in Reliability Maintenance Management, MRO Material Control & Optimization, Oracle EBS Applications, Data Scrutinizing and Cost Control Analyses, Engineering of Software Development, Process Flows and Procedures, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Over 20 years of experience in the Aviation Technical Business, the Aluminum Industry, and Software Engineering, both on the technical and business site as manager or consultant.
