Emily Alonso

I'm a Los Angeles native, a proud member of the Latino/a/x community, and an advocate for advancing equity and meaningful work. Through my nonprofit consulting firm, I have the privilege of working with incredible people to build impactful programs and support critical community work. As an "ally to impact", I lead pilot efforts of an online platform for career-seekers called "WorkforceReady" with Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation, grow Tech Pathways Programs, build Construction and Tech career exposure curriculum, evaluate career accelerator programs and increase the capacity of community-driven nonprofits by contributing to their fund development efforts. Across the wide breadth of work with I do with nonprofits, I specialize in managing large projects, producing research-informed and thoughtful outputs, and developing strategy to reach positive, asset-based, impactful outcomes. When I'm not consulting, I spend most of my time either teaching work experience and business technology classes at community college, or digging into and contributing to bodies of research around community colleges, equitable career pathways, innovative workforce development efforts, and online work-based learning. I spend the rest of my time volunteering, advocating for justice, making time for mindfulness and getting outdoors.
