Emily Bersnak

In my 10 years in education, I have consistently collaborated with team members to develop and implement Behavioral Intervention Plans and Individualized Education Plans for students as well as with general education teachers to provide appropriate modifications and accommodations for students and provide support for classroom inclusion. I have provided direct instruction of academics through use of the Essential Elements or alternate learning standards, which includes preparation of classroom materials, displays, and individual student accommodations and modifications. I was able to create a peer after school social group for special education students that helped foster positive relationships and build upon social, emotional, and leisure skills with same age, typically developing peers. I also provide professional development to coworkers in Unique Learning Systems, as well as to educators in other districts.
