Emily Conaton

I am a recent graduate from Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. I graduated as a Health Science major, honored as a Presidential Scholar and Summa Cum Laude. I am interested in pursuing a career in medicine. I was privileged to participate as an intern for my senior year at Boston Children's Hospital in the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology department. After graduation, I traveled to New York City where I participated in a week-long shadowing experience at the Hospital for Special Surgery, followed by my continued work as an intern for Falcon Investment Advisors, a private equity firm in Boston, MA.Through both of my internship experiences as well as in my previous job, I have gained valuable skills in communication, leadership, and teamwork. I foresee myself bringing these profound skills into any career that I pursue, and will aim to enhance them. Outside of my academics, I am a very creative individual, and find that bring creative is one of my great passions. While at my current position at Falcon Investments, I planned the company's Annual Meeting and Golf Outing, both of which allowed me to incorporate my creative skills into producing superb outcomes.After graduation, I opted for an entry-level medical career as a medical assistant, and became certified as such. I now work in the Plastic Surgery Department at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where I am incorporating my medical assistant skills as well as gaining patient-care experience that I can foresee helping in the advancement of my career goals into a more-senior medical professional position.I have been recently accepted in Massachusetts College for Pharmacy and Health Sciences's Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, located at their Manchester, New Hampshire campus. I intend to complete this program and become a Registered Nurse, where I would then like to pursue a career in a labor and delivery unit.
