Emily Tchea

A lawyer with commercial in-house experience in telecommunications and technology. Beginning my career at a Top 20 ASX listed company has provided me with an in-depth understanding of the changing landscape of telecommunications, adopting emerging technologies, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and critical thinking. My experience working with a range of stakeholders and senior leaders at Telstra has allowed me to adapt a transformative mindset, by reviewing current BAU processes and implementing a range of improvement opportunities to ensure optimal customer experience and operational excellence. In Telstra Legal, I've worked with many stakeholders in the Sales, Products, Marketing and Regulatory areas. Working in an in-house counsel team has provided me with the legal and commercial acumen to ensure clients are able to make informed business decisions to ensure sustained business growth and innovation. Prior to my career at Telstra, at university I had the pleasure of contributing to the largest commerce organisation at Macquarie University as their Vice President. In 2016, myself and 4 female students founded Women Entering Business (WEB) at Macquarie University - in the span of one year, our society has grown to over 200 members, and garnered support from the university and industry leaders, to champion women's rights and the importance of gender equality. In my final semester of university, I had the pleasure of leading the society as their Vice President.
