Emma Lane

In December 2013 I graduated from Community Development and Applied Economics department of the University of Vermont. My degree in Community and International Development taught me a great deal about the social, economic, and environmental struggles faced by today's society. During my time at UVM, I was able to work outside the classroom and participate in a variety of project-based educational experiences. Additionally, I obtained a minor in Green Building and Community Design which allowed me to set career goals for myself in the renewable energy and sustainability field. Some of my particular interests include: green building and eco design, renewable energy, affordable housing, fight against hunger, and other developmental issues faced by the greater international community. Since graduating college I have worked to combat homelessness and the affordable housing crisis in Vermont and moved on to assist with development for wind and solar projects in New England. I have now happily returned to UVM to encourage students to chase their goals and plan for their futures.
