About
The Cultural Spring aims to create long-term change in levels of arts and cultural participation in South Tyneside and Sunderland, driven by the creativity, imaginations and ambitions of the people living here. Previous roles have focused on the inclusion of arts strategies and artists within small to large building and regeneration projects in the North East, North West, Scotland and Ireland. Though the main scope of my work has been the provision and inclusion of arts strategies, my responsibilities have evolved to include community and business advocacy. In 2022 I completed level 3 on Leadership and Management through CMI (distinction) and this qualification has helped me immeasurably in my day-to-day work. Before I came to the UK, I worked as Visual Arts Officer in Carlow Ireland where I developed a series of community outreach projects as part of Visualise, a programme of contemporary art projects, engaging with artists from Europe, China, Australia and America. I was Board member of Éigse Arts Festival for two years and lectured in local community college as part of the Life Long Learning Programme.
