About

Since January 2016, I have been working for RealizeIt, an adaptive e-learning company based in Dublin. I contribute to the Product, Research and Accessibility teams at Realizeit. With the Product team, I am responsible for interacting with clients to ascertain their needs and developing custom solutions for these needs. This involves educating them on the best use of our product, as well as filtering needed new features to the development team, and helping to design the best experience for our customers in line with their requirements. I also participate in research projects with the Research team, helping to identify how research goals can be actioned within Realizeit, and providing summaries of relevant psychological literature as necessary. With the Accessibility team, I am responsible for maintaining the Realizeit Voluntary Product Accessibility Template, ensuring it is up-to-date, and identifying any accessibility deficits and ensuring they are actioned by the Development team. While working at Realizeit, between 2019 and 2021 I completed a Higher Diploma in Interaction Design at Dublin City University, gaining skills in user experience design, user interface design, and software development (learning HTML, CSS, Javascript and Python). I received a distinction and finished top of my class in the Higher Diploma. Between April 2015 and January 2016, I worked for Tyco as a technical communicator. I produced manuals and guides for Tyco customers and installation experts, providing them with clear and concise technical information necessary for using Tyco products. Between March 2014 and March 2015 I worked as a freelance journalist, publishing stories on politics, science, religion, sports, and other topics in The Irish Times, the Irish Examiner, the Evening Echo, and the Avondhu. Between 2010 and 2013 I completed a PhD. In Cognitive Psychology from Trinity College Dublin. During this period, I concurrently completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics, also in Trinity College Dublin. Prior to my postgraduate study, I completed a BA in Psychology and Philosophy, also in Trinity College Dublin, graduating with first class honours. I have excellent research, analytical, and communication skills. My interests span a breadth of subjects, from current affairs, politics, psychology, philosophy, music, film, television, sports, religion, and relationships, among others.
