Erica Dalton

When I graduated from the Sinclair School of Nursing at the University of Missouri- Columbia, I began my career at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. I worked on an Adult Medical/Surgical floor for just under 3 years. While there, I was a preceptor for senior nursing students completing their clinical hours and new employees being trained in their professional role. I became a charge nurse of the 56-bed unit after working on the floor for about a year. After my great experience on Med/Surg unit, I decided it was time for a change. I stayed within Mercy Hospital and internally transferred to their 116-bed, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to pursue my passion of working with neonates. I worked in that unit for just over 2 years. In 2018 I relocated to Austin, Texas to expand my knowledge and test my adaptability. I loved my job in St. Louis, but was looking to push myself to try something new and see the differences in the healthcare systems/populations. I am now continuing my career at St. David’s Hospital in their Level III NICU.
