I am originally from the financial sector. During a consultancy assignment for a risk management application, I became increasingly interested in the technology behind the processes, which is how I ended up in the IT sector. At large companies such as Ziggo and BT, I was mainly involved in IT services and networks, and found that I would rather be a captain on a smaller ship than a second mate on a mammoth tanker. The impact you have with a smaller organization is so much greater, and therefore much more fun! I try to convey my enthusiasm for IT to my colleagues at PQR: by ensuring that they are very happy in what they do, they are able to make peace with our customers. I am happy to include both client and colleague in the only constant in IT: change.
