On March 14, 2014, Governor Dannel P. Malloy appointed Attorney Tindill to the bench. She had served as the Chair of the Connecticut Board of Pardons and Paroles from May 2011 to her swearing in on April 29, 2014. Prior to coming to Connecticut in 1998, she served as an Assistant State Attorney in Dade County, Florida. After various assignments within the 11th Judicial District in Miami, she was ultimately appointed as Chief of Litigation supervising all county court domestic violence prosecution in Dade County. In Connecticut, beginning in 1999, she served as a staff attorney and then deputy director of the New Haven Legal Assistance Association Inc. Which provides full service representation of indigent clients. Judge Tindill specialized in the representation of victims of domestic violence in civil family relations cases. From 2009 to 2011, Judge Tindill served as the executive director of the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Inc.. In this role, she was the leader of the state coalition that informs public policy, develops training, provides technical support and conducts public policy advocacy in support of agencies that provides direct services to victims. She has served as Co-President of the board of Domestic Violence Services of Greater New Haven, on the Rape Crisis Center of Milford board of directors, and was a volunteer mentor in the New Haven public school system. She is a member of the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity and has served on the New Haven Bar Association's Diversity Committee as its Co-Chair. Prior to her appointment to the bench, Judge Tindill served as a gubernatorial appointee to the board of Connecticut Humanities. Judge Tindill is an adjunct professor in the Legal Studies Departments of Quinnipiac University and (formerly) the University of New Haven. Ms. Tindill is a James W. Cooper fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation. In July 2014, she was selected to be a Council of State Governments Henry Toll Fellow.
