Evan Chen

I have spent the past years as part of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Application Group working to empower our customers to use their data in new ways through Customer Care Applications for Customer Service and Field Service. I very much enjoy being able to work aside others who are passionate about data and insights and hope to continuing being a part of the exciting growth and potential for Microsoft in this area. Before that I completed a year-long apprenticeship program as part of WTIA's APPRENTI program at Microsoft, during which I was able to not only acquire skills in C#, SQL, data engineering, and data visualization, but also gain valuable experience working alongside professionals and having a direct mentor during the duration of my apprenticeship. One of my past experiences was working as a Trainer for Google Maps, where I was able to use my passion for maps and helping others together and be a part of groundbreaking GIS work. A dream of mine is to one day become a teacher so I can be a positive influence in people's lives and also help people find their passion! In college, I chose to go the non-traditional route of studying Geography and Anthropology and it has taken me to places I would never expect to be and given me new ways to look at the world. My goal is to continue to enjoy what I do and to discover new ways to put my skill to use and I hope by doing so I can make this world a better place!
