I worked 10 years inspecting for commercial insurance. In my current work at Utah Occupational Safety and Health (UOSH) a division of the State of Utah Labor Commission. I was a Compliance Safety and Health Officer (CSHO) enforcing the Federal OSHA standards, and whistleblower investigator for 8 years. I became a Consultant because I believe that recognizing and solving safety and health hazards before they result in serious or fatal injuries and illnesses is a better approach. I currently work with all types of employers who request my assistance to spot their hazards and program shortcomings. I then help them to fix those items through suggested methods of abatement, training, and help in writing programs that comply with OSHA standards. I am a 10 and 30 hour General Industry and Construction OSHA authorized trainer, as well as being able to conduct training and presentations on all OSHA standards. I am frequently asked to present breakout sessions on OSHA topics at association conferences throughout Utah. I represent the Utah Labor Commission, UOSH Division at the State of Utah Emergency Operations Center monthly meetings under the Fire and Hazmat groups.
