Develop challenging IT system requirements with an emphasis upon security and reliability from the abstract requirements of the client, through to using skilled management as a systems administrator or and network administrator, problem solver. I have not found yet an IT system that I could not improve and/or manage to cost-effective solutions, due to my education and hands-on experience in high-level jobs. I have lived SaaS ops and I know how a Linux box runs like the back of my hand. I have experienced the 4am site-wide outages and the heart-in-your-mouth feeling while rushing to get everything back up. I have also experienced the joy of watching our site stay up while a data center goes black thanks to our carefully laid out infrastructure. I have pulled back the covers and know how this Internet thing works end to end. Networks, servers, protocols, operating systems, services, databases, query optimization, disks: to me nothing is a “black-box”. If necessary, I can debug performance problems through the whole stack. CI (Continuous Integration) servers, push button deploys,metrics dashboards, and centralized logging aren’t just “nice to have” - they are critical pieces of infrastructure that rapidly pay for themselves. I am familiar with the tool-space, and can suggest products in each of these areas.
