Ezra Greenberg

I am a partner in McKinsey’s Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice where I co-lead our Strategic Transformation Services in North America. I also lead McKinsey’s work on macro scenarios and trends globally, helping clients understand how these forces impact strategy and investment decisions. Based in Stamford, CT since I rejoined McKinsey in 2013, I was previously a member of McKinsey’s Boston and Washington D.C. Offices.I serve strategic players and investors across industries on all aspects of strategy, portfolio optimization and due diligence. My deepest sector expertise is in engineering, construction and building materials, where I work with manufacturers and distributors across their agenda. I have been at the center of McKinsey’s global response to the COVID-19 crisis, leading the development of McKinsey’s COVID-19 macroeconomic scenarios and discussions and service to thousands of clients globally.Before rejoining McKinsey, I spent three years at Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest hedge fund, where I was a member of the Client Service Research team which is responsible for explaining Bridgewater’s investment philosophy, its performance, and its evolving views about markets and the global economy to clients.During my first 10 years with McKinsey, I was a Senior Fellow at the McKinsey Global Institute and co-founded the North American Knowledge Center, a center of excellence for business research and advanced analytics. I led research on range of topics including the emergence of China and India, demographics and consumer behavior and played a principal role in the development and client dissemination of McKinsey’s global macro scenarios during the 2008-2009 financial crisis.I studied economics at McGill University in Montreal, PQ Canada, and did doctoral work in macroeconomics and monetary theory at University of Maryland, College Park.
