This is defined by 25+ high-impact publications (Nature Communications, PNAS, Cell Reports, Stem Cell Reports, Diabetes, JCI Insight, Lancet Oncology etc) with 400+ citations (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=RRFfx7YAAAAJ&hl=en). I hold degrees in Veterinary medicine (DVM), a Masters in Applied Biosciences (MS) and a doctorate (Ph.D) in Molecular Cell & Developmental Biology from the University of Miami, with post doctoral fellowship training from Tulane University. I completed my PhD at the Diabetes Research Institute in the Pancreatic Development and Stem Cell lab., as a part of the Dominguez-Bendala research group. My doctoral studies were fully funded by the graduate school at the University of Miami along with a Fulbright Pre-doctoral Fellowship. My research interests include (but are not limited to): Stem cell therapy, Pluripotent Stem cell Technology, Type 1 Diabetes, Immunomodulation of the T1D pancreas, bioartificial organs, computational approaches to dissecting single cell/nuclei transcriptomics epigenomics and epi-transcriptomics, computational approaches to dissect systems biology and biostatistical modeling.
