Fatema Samina Yasmin

Fatema Samina Yasmin works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science, University of Dhaka. She completed her M.S.S and B.S.S (Honours) in Political Science from the same university obtaining First Class 2nd Position in both. Before joining Dhaka University, she worked for Institute of Governance Studies (IGS), BRAC University. She worked on several commissioned research projects for IGS. Of these, ‘Giving Youth A Voice’-Bangladesh Youth Survey 2012 was one of its kind as such an extensive study on youths was done for first time in Bangladesh. She penned it with Dr. Elvira Graner and Salina Aziz. She also worked for UNDP Bangladesh as a Young Professional Officer in Local Governance Cluster. She briefly worked for other NGOs like Democracy Watch, Article -19 in Bangladesh. Her academic and research interests include areas as such governance, public policy and management, human rights, gender issues, youth development and many more. She also works as a independent researcher and consultant with various organizations.
