I've been a lead rigger in Framestore for quite a few years now and my teams helped deliver all kind of projects, from simple shows to some of the most complex ones Framestore ever worked on. I managed teams of various sizes, up to 12 riggers on the biggest show, and had to tackle all kind of challenges. To mention a few ones I'd say IronMan in Avengers: Infinity War and SmartHulk in Avengers: Endgame. My job these days pivots heavily on my soft skills, such as leadership, people development, communication, teamworking, people/time/stress management, creative thinking and problem solving. I strongly believe that "classic" intelligence on his own doesn't go very far without a substantial and appropriate development of our emotional intelligence. And I think that a lead role doesn't simply consist in making sure that stuff gets delivered. A lead should also actively participate in the skills development of his team. That's why I always work hard to establish a strong bond among us, so that teamworking can flow free and no challenge becomes too hard to tackle. On a much simpler side, my hard skills consist in creating, testing and maintaining complex but at the same time optimized and animator-friendly setups for characters, vehicles and props, either realistic or cartoony, as well as developing animation and pipeline tools. The strong programming and mathematical background allows me to have the best problem solving approach to rigging challenges. And I'm also part of the core team of Framestore's rigging department, where we develop and maintain the code everyone uses. Out of work, my curiosity and open mind pushes me through all sorts of interests, even though the never-changing ones I must mention are climbing and my motorbike...! And socializing of course... Nurturing our human connections has and will always be a strong focus in my life.
