Feng Xu

Over the past >25 years in the pharmaceutical industry, Feng has established himself as a key contributor and industry-recognized expert in Merck’s Small Molecule Process Research & Development. To highlight Feng’s contributions to medicines impacting patient’s life as a development team lead he designed, developed and implemented the manufacturing processes/routes for six commercial products: RECARBRIO™ (2020), GEMTESA® (2018), ZEPATIER® (2016), MARIZEV® (2015), JANUVIA® (2006), and SUSTIVA® (1998). Feng also led the authoring and submission of the CMC documents for NDA and EMA filing, and global registration of grazoprevir and relebactam. During his tenure at Merck, Feng has gained expertise knowledge of drug development at all stages from preclinic to commercialization with proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional drug development teams. Feng has served various roles to broaden his impact on drug development. Feng has a passion for inventing new synthetic methodology, applying new enabling technologies and designing and developing innovative and efficient synthesis of drug candidates to amenable large-scale production. He is an author of >90 peer-reviewed publications and patents. He has proven track record of building high performance teams, developing key talent, fostering scientific excellence and delivering results.
